Instructions for Preparing Masala Pasta

Step 1: Boil Some Pasta

In a separate utensil, add some Pasta to a bowl and boil it in hot water for a few minutes until it is soft enough. You can add a tbsp of salt to this. Don’t boil it to the point it is fully cooked. Maintain a slight rawness to it. It will get cooked further once it is added to the Masala mix.

Step 2: Slightly Pre-Cook the Vegetables

There isn’t really a limit to the type of vegetables you can add to a Pasta. We’d suggest slightly pre-cooking them and keeping them ready so that they add a bit more flavor.

Step 3: Blanche and Purée the Tomatoes

Rather than chopping the tomatoes, we’d suggest making a paste out of them by blanching them and then puréeing them.

Step 4: Pour Vegetable Oil in a Pan

Pour 2 tsps of vegetable oil into a pan and bring it to a boil

Step 5: Add Nutralite Doodhshakti Probiotic Butter Spread

Add 1 tbsp of Nutralite Doodshakti Probiotic Butter Spread to the pan and mix it with the oil. Nutralite’s Doodhshakti Probiotic Butter Spread improves gut health, boosts immunity and helps with digestion. Every serving is packed with 1 billion probiotic bacteria which alos helps to boost immunity and fight infections.

Step 6: Add Jeera to the Mix

Add 1 tsp of jeera to the mix and let it simmer for a few seconds.

Step 7: Add Finely Chopped Garlic and Onion

Once you can see it simmering, add 1 tsp of finely chopped garlic to the mix. Also add one finely chopped onion along with the garlic.

Step 8: Sauté the Mix

With all these ingredients in the pan, sauté the mix until the onions look slightly cooked/

Step 9: Time to add the Vegetables

Add some vegetables of your choice to the mix. We’d suggest pre-cooking these vegetables before adding them to the mix. Ms. Shetty’s choice of vegetables for this Indian masala pasta recipe include carrots, tomatoes, peas, and red, yellow and green peppers. All finely chopped.

Step 10: Add Puréed Tomato Paste

Make a purée paste out of 2 blanched tomatoes and add it to the mix.

Step 11: Add Some Coconut Sugar to the Mix

For a hint of sweetness and to reduce the sourness from tomatoes, add ½ tsp of coconut sugar to the mix.

Step 12: Add Some Red Chilli Powder to the Mix

The next step is to add ½ tsp of red chilli powder to the mix. Because of an Indian style masala pasta recipe without the spicy taste of chilli powder.

Step 13: Time for the Masala

Here’s the main trick for the perfect veg masala pasta recipe. Add 1 tsp of pav bhaji masala to the mix.

Step 14: Some Vegetable Stock Water

There’s no need to waste the water in which you cooked the Pasta. Add ½ cup of that water to the mix and stir it.

Step 15: Taste the Pasta Sauce

Once the pasta sauce looks ready, taste it and see if it feels savory enough. If you feel like you need to, sprinkle some salt over it.

Step 16: Add the Pasta to the Mix

For a healthy Italian pasta recipe, we’d suggest using whole wheat pasta. Add 100gms of boiled Pasta to the sauce and stir it.

Step 17: Sprinkle Coriander Leaves Over the Pasta

There simply isn’t an easy homemade pasta recipe without coriander leaves. They make everything just a little bit tastier and healthier! Sprinkle them over the Pasta mix!

Step 18: Finally, Add Some Grated Cheese

Pasta without cheese is boring. Add ½ cup of grated cheese to the Pasta mix.

And there you have it! Brunch is ready! Enjoy some delicious home cooked masala Pasta with your family!

Additional Tips for a More Unique Taste

Butter chicken, also known as “murgh makhani” in Hindi, is believed to have originated by chance in Delhi, India.

Legend has it that it was created in the 1950s at the Moti Mahal restaurant when leftover tandoori chicken was mixed with a rich, tomato-based gravy, and the result was the now-beloved dish, butter chicken. This is a testament to how some of the most iconic and delicious recipes are often born out of culinary experimentation.

There’s always something more you can add to Pasta to make it taste more unique. You can try some stuff like:

  • Add some Paneer to the mix if you’re a vegetarian household and want something more filling.
  • Add some chicken pieces to the mix if you’re a non-vegetarian household and want to add something more filling.
  • When you boil the Pasta, add some vegetable oil and salt to it beforehand, to make sure it tastes a bit better.
  • Instead of sprinkling grated cheese, you can add some delicious Nutralite table spread to the Pasta.
